Merkmale:<\/strong>
\nDer Wels ist mit maximal 3m L\u00e4nge und bis zu 150kg Gewicht der mit Abstand gr\u00f6sste Fisch unserer Gew\u00e4sser. Seine Flossen sind, \u00e4hnlich dem Aal, lang und dem K\u00f6rper entlang zusammengewachsen. Der breite Kopf mit den langen Barteln und dem riesigen Maul zeichnen diesen Koloss aus. Gef\u00e4rbt ist er meistens gr\u00fcn-grau mit kleinen Flecken, welche ihm eine ideale Tarnung erlauben.<\/p>\n

Verhalten:<\/strong>
\nWelse muten sehr schwerm\u00fctig und sanft an. Es muss sicher ein ausserirdischer Moment sein, einem Wels beim Tauchen zu begegnen. Man findet diese Fische oft in R\u00f6hren, in Wurzel-, Ast- und sonstigen Gebilden im Wasser oder am Grund selber. Ruhig lauern sie auf Beute, die sie mit einem Mal blitzschnell aufsaugen, sobald diese in Reichweite ist. Menschen m\u00fcssen sich jedoch nicht f\u00fcrchten. Seltener findet man Welse sogar in Ufern\u00e4he in H\u00e4fen in der N\u00e4he von Pfeilern und Booten. Sie sind sowohl in Seen als auch in Fl\u00fcssen zu Hause.<\/p>\n

Sonstiges:
\n<\/strong>Der Wels ist, wie die meisten grossen Fische, ein beliebter Fisch bei Sportanglern und ein feiner Speisefisch. Unterschiedliche, jedoch fragw\u00fcrdige, Quellen berichten von Exemplaren von \u00fcber 350kg die im 18.Jh. im Dnepr in der Ukraine und in der Oder in Deutschland\/Polen gefangen wurden.
